History of Ngāti Rangiwewehi (the people of the land)

Ngāti Rangiwewehi trace our origins to Ohomairangi, a tupuna(ancestor) who lived in hawaiki six generations before the great migration of our ancestors to Aotearoa New Zealand in 1350.

Today Ngāti Rangiwewehi is a tribe of over 2000 people, world renowned for our contribution to Māori oratory and performing arts.
